I love the literary prose, the vocabulary and the content of the story. I have 2 girls ( 9 and 13 years old) who were born in China. I adopted them when they were 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 years old. I love that it gives them a glimpse of the culture they were born into. It has opened up conversation between me and my 2 girls. My 3rd grader was reading the last few chapters out loud when we were on our way to school. It sparked my 13 year old's interest. She said, "mom, do not return this book, I want to read it first." Thank you Mrs. Yeung Russell for following God's plan for your life to be a writer.
