The illustrations have the appearance and color consistency of children's crayon drawn pictures. They will remind us all of the types of pictures that we drew when we were children.
As I read this book to myself, I had a very good feeling inside. It reminded me of all the fun I had taking my children on summer adventures. And now I think of all the fun I'm having taking my grandchildren on similar adventures during the summertime, like camping, going to zoos, visiting relatives far away and a whole bunch of other things.
In "Kayla and Emma,"Carrie tells us from their viewpoint about some adventures they had, probably during the summer. I won't give away the complete storyline, but here is just a tad. Kayla and Emma are visited by their grandfather
