He seemed funny at the time, but once I began reading the book I felt like the man was clueless. I have been married to the same man for 31 years (the ONLY marriage for BOTH of us) and I can tell you this, Mr. Harvey is WAY off if he thinks that all men think the way he does. My husband has NEVER been intimidated by my successes, he knows exactly what I want, what I am thinking and is very into talking to me about whatever I need to talk to him about. I found it very hard to read this entire book and found myself slamming it down out of pure frustration and the thought that so many women will read this and take it as reality when it isn't. My husband and I fell in love shortly after high school (the SAME high school) and neither one of us had predetermined thoughts of the other one. Neither one of us felt everything had to go a certain way or in a certain order before it would work, we just let life happen and enjoyed it all, the ups and the downs. That's marriage folks. Once you fall in love, you do whatever it takes to continue making it work with a lot of talking and a lot of patience. Giving up over stupid issues or insecurities is not what those vows are about.
