C.V.Smith said: I recommend this book to adolescents and their parents, especially if your child is having prejudice ,bullying, or self-esteem problems. These themes are illustrated through historical Holocaust and WWII data and dialogue, primarily by the eight, Jewish child-refugee characters. Main character, Nettie, a crippled African-American woman, also relates her own experiences with prejudice in the southern U.S. and about the enslavement of her ancestors 400 years ago.
