The linear plot is full of funny twists, and the message of the story can relate to many generations. The theme is implicit and a reader can decide for themselves how much they want to get out of this story, because there are a few themes one could conclude about this story. It is very funny, entertaining, and the message is timeless.
The illustrations appear to be pencil and watercolor. The faces are not very clear, but it is more the action the illustrator wants a reader to focus on. The text appears at the top or bottom and the pictures are borderless, except for the edge of the page. This really helps to focus the eye on the action the text is describing rather than insignificant details. There are mostly shades of brown, blues, greens, and reds. The illustrations can explain the story because they are so parallel to the text.
