Haunting, mysterious, sometimes baffling this novel takes you on an omniscient journey into so many characters that you have to attend to who's head you're in every moment. Are you dealing with the MC's tormented thoughts about escaping the inevitable, his perceptive toddler-brother, his imaginary dog, or could it be Fate itself? I find her prose elegant and her themes powerful.
