If you or your kids can't handle explicit reality mingled with well-crafted science fiction, then I guess it's unfortunate that you'll never have the pleasure of reading this book. If you can handle the fact that bad things happen to kids, don't miss this book. It's one of the best books I've read in a long time.

Hi Kory. I also loved Jumper and wished that the movie was more true to the novel. How refreshing to hear someone speak of the certain realities in our teens lives. Identifying, sympathizing and being able to escape into the world of science fiction and it's characters, are a part of what our teens ... more

i agree with your assesment, however i think why you're seeing so many bad reviews is that parents really want to 'not think' about this sort of thing. i think it has to do with the escaping aspect of novels. at any rate, at least in canada book banning was banned.
