I am a husband, father, and children's book author---in that order. I've said it before and I'll say it again, nothing is more important to me than my family.

I create characters that either don't exist or are not being properly represented in children's literature. In particular, African American images of positive, functional family life, African American boys that are intellectuals, sensitive and well as strong and charming. I create, Black girls that exhibit the grace, intelligence, femininity, strength and style that our real life princesses are made of.

As an artist, I feel as if it is a obligation to create these images and tell these stories, instead of waiting on someone else to bring them into existence.
