Churchill Livingstone
Churchill Livingstone is a global publisher of health and medical books, journals and CD-ROMs, including medical reference for health professionals and textbooks for lecturers and students. The Churchill Livingstone imprint first appeared in 1972 following the amalgamation of the medical lists of J & A Churchill, E & S Livingstone and Longman. John Churchill, the founder of J & A Churchill, opened his publishing firm in London in 1728 with a list of medical books dating back to 1688. Churchill Livingstone joined the Harcourt Health Sciences group in 1996, which has recently become part of Elsevier Science.
