I am a writer and illlustrator who really makes books for grownups who remember what a delight it was to be a child. I've written a whole bunch of my own stories, but nearly the most fun I ever had in my whole forty-one years was illustrating The Wind in the Willows, by Kenneth Grahame and published by the Folio Society.

The books I write and paint pictures for are largely about thoughtful, philosophical rabbits, and also about the romance between animals, especially bears who sometimes need love sonnets composed for them. It is a rather dangerous and sometimes thankless job but someone from the human world's got to do it.
My favourite authors and illustrators are Tolkien, Beatrix Potter, Arthur Rackham, and Kenneth Grahame.
