Over the years, Boyds Mills Press has built a reputation for publishing quality children's literature. Now more than a decade old, the company continues its efforts to publish books that enlighten and entertain. Boyds Mills Press reaches children primarily through bookstores, libraries, and schools. The list, which includes picture books, fiction, nonfiction, activity books, poetry, and paperback reprints, runs about fifty books per year. Poetry is a unique feature of Boyds Mills Press. Published under the Wordsong imprint, it's the only imprint of its kind devoted exclusively to poetry for children. Respect for children is among the highest priorities when we acquire a manuscript. We aim to publish good stories with lasting value. We avoid the trendy, and never publish a book simply to fill a market need. Whether pure entertainment or more challenging subject matter, the story always comes first.
