As school principal, consultant and friend Rick Ackerly helps parents with parenting. Currently Head of School of the Children’s Day School in San Francisco, he has been working with young people and their parents and teachers since 1967. Rick has been the headmaster of four schools in four different cities around the country: Kansas City, New York, Oakland and San Francisco. In addition to parenting he consults with schools in the areas of leadership training, communication, community building, strategic planning and diversity training. Beginning as a high school mathematics teacher he also taught history and political science to middle school students and served as Director of Admission. Graduating from Williams College with a BA in political science Rick also holds an EdM from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, completed graduate work in applied theology at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley and Rick has taken additional postgraduate courses at Harvard University, the University of Virginia and the University of Massachusetts.
