About Sheri

Sheri Bell-Rehwoldt, a military brat, graduated from the University of Texas (Hook 'em, Horns!!) and has the framed diploma to prove it, though she can't quite remember where she put it. Ah, UT: Beautiful buildings, beautiful people, beautiful cars. But, with 50,000 students, it's an easy place in which to lose your soul. Sheri's fondest memories? The stench of pigeon poop, (oh so pungent after an Austin rain), a firm bum courtesy of the long haul between classrooms, and the time she wore a "Jesus Saves" T-Shirt to class and droves of students parted before her like the Red Sea.

Sheri used to have a "real" job, but these days she's an award-winning magazine writer, editor and author. Her picture book (Chronicle Books, 2007), illustrated by the fabulous David Slonim, is about a big-attitude tooth fairy. Sheri wrote the book after the Tooth Fairy made a late night appearance, during which she demanded that Sheri set the record straight. "I'm a technology chick," Sheri swears the tiny tooth-nabber declared. "The whole fairy dust thing is soooo old school."

Tooth has nabbed two first place wins. One in the children's fiction book category of the National Federation of Press Women's (NFPW) 2008 Communications Contest, the other in the same category of the Delaware Press Association (DPA) 2008 Communications Contest.

Having sold 15,000+ copies to date, Tooth will soon be printed in French and Hebrew!

Other fiction news: Sheri is currently marketing her first middle-grade novel, Junk Lot Jive, about a kid who'd rather live anywhere but on the junk lot he calls home.

Other non-fiction news: Sheri is currently writing a book on spy codes for reluctant readers. Thank you, James Bond!

A whiz at writing for the corporate world (profiles, travel, advertorials, and social media), Sheri also offers her proofreading and editing skills to anyone with a need and a check book (or Paypal account). Sheri would be happy to critique your manuscript for $3/page for manus that are 1000+ words, or for a flat fee of $60 for manus of less than 1000 words.

On a personal note, Sheri LOVES margaritas, art, California rolls, Ireland, Australian wines, chocolate lava cake (okay, anything chocolate!!), the Big Island, cowboys, weddings, funny people and libraries. But she will never, no, not ever, eat beets, liver, or be friends with people who kick dogs.

Sheri currently resides in Salt Lake City, UT with her amazing husband, Greg.
