PROFESSIONAL PROFILE Dr. Blotcky has been in the private practice of child, adolescent and adult psychiatry since 1977. He has nineteen years of psychiatric inpatient experience at Timberlawn Psychiatric Hospital where he served as Chief of the Child and Adolescent Service, Director of the Child and General Psychiatry Residency Training Programs, and Clinical Director of the Hospital. He supervised a staff of over thirty psychiatrists in this 230 bed facility and managed the clinical programs while serving on an the Board of Directors which was the active management team of the mental health system. Dr. Blotcky is actively involved in forensic psychiatry especialy in family court evaluations of custody and possession matters.He has published 40 articles, chapters and books in the professional literature and continues teaching at the post-graduate level as a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He has been active in professional organizations at the national level and was Chair of the Committee for Certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has been an invited member of the two honorary psychiatric organizations – The American College of Psychiatry and the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry. He is married and has four children.
