Hi there! I'm a mother of three under 5 yrs. old. Two of which are twins, and one of those precious souls is autistic. My husband is serving in the Coast Guard, so we are quite nomadic. I am from Alaska, and we are thankful to currently be back up in the Last Frontier.
I have written a storybook to help explain the behaviors of ASD children to other preschoolers, and am interested in getting it published. I realized the need for this book after having several parents approach me for advice on how to explain my son's (or his classmates') behaviors to their children in an informative, yet respectful and age appropriate way. I have always loved to write, and have written many 'social stories' to help my children deal with our transfers or to learn various life-topics. I have now begun to realize that my passion for writing may not be in developing the next NY times best-selling novel, but in helping families learn how to communicate with, and about, their special chldren.
