Carol Schafer lives in Athabasca, Alberta, with her husband, Steve. They have two grown children: Alison and Carson. Carol worked as a Course Materials Editor at Athabasca University for almost three decades, retiring in 2013. She is a Children's Advocate for Compassion Canada, and the founder of Destiny Dresses.
