About Céline
Born in Montreal in 1961, Céline Malépart is a Bachelor of Arts in plastics arts of College Lionel-Groulx with a Specialization in Graphic Arts from Concordia University.
She is an illustrator and spent the last twenty years working on schoolbooks, albums for children, as well as diversified illustrations for magazines in Canada and the United States.
Céline Malépart explores painting on canvas, and this for the last five years. She works with acrylic paint giving her a palette of alive, opaque, and brilliant colours. Her canvasses tell, in an artless and naïve way, different scenes of life, marrying humour, objects, cats and people.
She lives in Montreal, in her crooked three floor blue house, with her family, her gizmo, her orange kitchen and other comical colours, her tuques, her plastic dummies, her untidy and messy workshop, and with her three cats who talk all the time.
