About Donna
Donna Rayburn is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She worked for Deloitte and Touche public accounting firm for 3 years after college until she was offered a job to work in the Internal Audit Department at the Walt Disney World Resort. She worked for Disney for 7 years in various departments, including the Magic Kingdom Business Office and the Corporate Alliances Department. Rayburn took the past 8 years off from CPA work to stay home and raise her 4 children.
“I Accidently…” is Rayburn’s first published book. She keeps journals for each of her children since they were born. She writes about events or happenings in their lives. One summer, she was looking over her son’s journal for the past school year and thought his “experiences in kindergarten” would make a funny book. Her good friend and neighbor was a graphic artist so she ran the idea past her to see if she thought they could create a book together. She liked the idea of creating a book but didn’t have the time to work on it. Incidentally, Rayburn met Valerie Lepore-Ney at her children’s school who owns a publishing company (CEI, Inc.). Lepore-Ney liked the book and agreed to help her find an illustrator and to publish the book when it was complete.
Rayburn also has a history of community service:
• Lead 3 different Girl Scout Troops over the past 9 years
• Co-chaired the Empathy Through Education (ETE) Committee at Nativity Catholic School for 3 years
• Sat on the Nativity School Advisory Council for 3 years
• Volunteered as Nativity Catholic School’s Novemberfest Chairperson for 3 years
• Served as President of the Hunter’s Creek Women’s Association in Orlando for 1year, and Event Chairperson for 2 years
• Chairperson for Nativity Catholic Schools’ Auction and Gala
Growing up as an only child and always looking for playmates, Rayburn knew she wanted a big family when she grew up. She loves the fact that her house is the home base for children in her neighborhood to play. She is happy to play “taxi driver” for her children’s volleyball, soccer and baseball games; dance and karate classes; and Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts.
