E.B. McHenry was born in 1962.
She grew up just outside of Philadelphia, in Narberth, PA.
Already an artist in high school, E.B. rode the train into Philadelphia on Saturdays to attend her first figure drawing classes at The Moore College of Art.
In 1980, she enrolled at The Philadelphia College of Art,
studying Painting, Illustration, and Design. (B.F.A. 1985)
After graduating, E.B. traveled in Europe with a band of internationally
famous European clowns; juggling, parading, painting and museum going until returning to Philadelphia in 1986 to begin a career as a freelance illustrator
for major newspaper and magazine publications.
In 1992, at the onset of the digital revolution, E.B.enrolled in a program at
The Moore College of Art’s first Computer Design program for professionals.
With these new skills and tools, E.B. moved to San Francisco and began creating animations, computer illustrations, and designs in the children's software industry, but most importantly, she began writing with computers, E.B. has written and illustrated
two published children’s picture books;
Poodlena and, Has Anyone Seen Winnie and Jean? Both with Bloomsbury Children's Books.
She. lives on the Central Coast of California, on an organic farm and nature preserve,
with her husband, Peter, her dog surfer dog Grilly and magic kit-cat, Mitzel..
