Wow it sounds like your a pretty busy lady! I love animals, once me and my husband get a house, I'm getting a dog. My poor dear mother nearly went frantic with me...I always fed all the strays through the back door of our house, so they came around all the time. They were the sweetest things though! You sound a lot like my music teacher: she has 3 dogs, 2 cats, not counting the strays they take in and keep in the garage. Animals really are very special. Thanks for adding me!

Thanks you Frances. I love the idea of your Mary Lamb book. My 11 year old daughter is a huge animal lover and has wanted to be a vet since she was in Kindergarten. She was enthralled with the Warriors series of books (about clans of cats at war etc) by Erin Hunter. I'm sure she would love your book... more

Thanks you Frances. I love the idea of your Mary Lamb book. My 11 year old daughter is a huge animal lover and has wanted to be a vet since she was in Kindergarten. She was enthralled with the Warriors series of books (about clans of cats at war etc) by Erin Hunter. I'm sure she would love your book. I must go and get it. My son's 14th birthday is in a few weeks and in our house the birthday fairy brings a small unbirthday gift to the child whose not having a birthday so they don't feel left out. Sounds like your book would be perfect for that.
I haven't seen an indication of what age groups it is actually for but that doesn't matter. My daughter is a bookworm and reads anything and everything, especially if it involves animals.
If you ever decide you'd like it made into an audiobook I'm always available to audition as your narrator.

Thanks, Frances, for inviting me to be your friend. I'm new on this, so need to add details. I grew up on a wheat and cattle ranch in eastern Washington and at one time had sixteen cats. They were outdoors cats and good at catching mice, but the coyotes caught them, so it gradually dropped to the five or so who would stay in the barn at night.
My daughter and I wrote a childrens' Bible. We wanted it to have every story in it and we wanted it to be fully illustrated. That meant it would be huge. So we wrote it in five volumes and put out volume one on DVD, while working on Vol. 2 & 3. Little kids are absolutely enthralled with it as they can look at the pictures while the words are being read to them. It makes a great gift. People are buying 5 or 10 copies (which are discounted) and using them for birthday, Christmas, Easter, and baby shower gifts. We are working at getting them into stores. Right now Cokesbury carries it. And we got a "four Dove" family friendly rating from the Dove Foundation.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading “Mary Lamb Enters the World of Maze once I started reading it, I just couldn’t put it down. It was so beautifully written with the writer’s descriptions; one could easily imagine what the World of the Maze really looked like. I would highly recommend this book for young and old alike I am happy to see the ending was left open for a follow-up book.

The only negative thing I could say about this eloquently written book is that if it had been in a written in the language of a six year old child they would be able to read it for themselves.

Do you know Boris and Ardith Brott? I'll tell you how I know them if you do. I am such a cat lover so there is nothing wrong with 6 cats. The children's book I wrote is about a cat who lives in the animal shelter and wants to get adopted. The title is NOBODY CAME FOR JASPER. It's told from the cats point of view. It is a real cat. Mary Lamb is the kid in all of us. Thoroughly enjoyed this book. I'm 62 and couldn't put it down. Mary Lamb is an exciting new character. I loved every word -- refreshing, fascinating, mesmerizing and exciting. Can't wait for the movie. Move over Harry P. -- there is a new girl in town!!

Mary Lamb Enters the World of Maze is a very contemporary story about a dysfunctional family. This story is a page turner and makes the reader empathize with Mary Lamb’s situation being taunted by bullies, having an unreliable father and an overworked underpaid mother who struggles to survive. A perfect book for parents to read and discuss with their children. It’s a taste of how resilient and imaginative a child can be to cope with an impossible situation. I highly recommend this book for all ages young and old will find this book very entertaining.
