A native of Charleston, SC, I have illustrated children's books and magazines for the past twenty years. My first book was THE SAILOR'S BRIDE, published in 1991. Its heroine is a mouse named Susanna who sets out with her children to find her husband when he is lost as sea. Mice have been the subject of many of my illustrations, which is not surprising since my brother and I raised generations of them when we were children.My most recent illustrations were done for songwriter Marc Hoffman who wrote SLEEP, LITTLE CHILD, and for Anne Jewell, Director of the Louisville Slugger Bat Museum, who wrote THE BIG BAT. I have also enjoyed working with Sue Beck at Carus Publishing Group, who published many of my illustrations in their children's magazines LADYBUG and BABYBUG.
