About Tony
After many years working as an art director in London,Montreal,San Francisco and Honolulu, and having written and illustrated 3 children's books in Hawaii. Tony returned to the UK to concentrate on publishing work. Commissions followed for major London publishers. At the end of the 90's, in addition to illustration he returned to writing, 4 titles followed: Crocodile in the Piano, Murdoch and the Toothache, Arthur and the Caterpillars and Pat-a-Cake for Walker books and Candlewick Press in the US. The latter winning an Oppenheim award. In 2000 Hyacinth Hop has the Hic-Hops was written for Ragged Bears in the US followed by the popular Olly Bear series for Orion Children's Books : Oops! Says Olly Bear, Hello Says Olly Bear and No Says Olly Bear. These have appeared in 9 foriegn editions.Tony also illustrated 2 further titles for Orion: Floppy Ears and Little Tail - rabbits this time!
Recently, in a new departure, Tony has been involved in producing artists books, for which he is creating original collographs, drypoint and woodcut prints on his own etching press.
