About Rowan
Although I first discovered my love of writing while in high school, I did not choose it as my career path. My sights were set on a future in medicine, which was the right choice for me at the time. However, I continued writing and learning the trade by taking classes and authored several magazine articles and even a few newspaper stories. (Flipping fixer- uppers also fascinated me, before it was fashionable and trendy! Oh well, I was just ahead of my time, but it was so much fun!)
Now that I have retired from a long and rewarding career in medicine, I am returning to my love of writing on a full time basis.
My first offering, The Tale of the Castle Cat, has been in the writing/planning stage for over thirty years! It took a while because I was busy raising a wonderful daughter, who, by the way, co-authored this story with me. It is a result of her having to spend many hours in a sick bed and reading her personal library of books to the point of being able to recite them from memory. Since that was unchallenging, we wrote our own book, and through the years have added depth and dimension to the story and its characters.
I hope it is just the beginning of a fun-filled adventure for my readers and me.
