Just Us Books, Inc. is an independent publishing company that specializes in books for young people that reflect the diversity of Black history, Black culture and Black experiences. Founded by Wade Hudson and Cheryl Willis Hudson in 1988, this innovative company is now considered one of the leading publishers of Black interest titles for young people.

Just Us Books has had a major impact on the publishing industry from its inception. When the Hudsons released AFRO-BETS® ABC Book twenty years ago, there were very few Black children's books being published and widely distributed. The pioneering efforts of the husband-wife team helped to demonstrate that there is a viable market for Black interest books for children. Today, more Black interest books for young people are published annually, and more of these books find their way onto the shelves of book stores and retail outlets.

In 2004, Just Us Books launched Sankofa Books, a new imprint that has brought Black classics by Rosa Guy, Camille Yarbrough, Eleanora Tate and the late James Haskins, back into print.

In addition to the popular AFRO-BETS series, Just Us Books' titles include Bright Eyes, Brown Skin; Jamal's Busy Day; the Kid Caramel series; Book of Black Heroes: Great Women in the Struggle, and its newest releases: One Million Men and Me; The Secret Olivia Told Me and Path to My African Eyes.

In 2008 Just Us Books will celebrate 20 years of publishing excellence.
