I was born and reared in South Africa. After I came to the USA and lost my dog, I purchased my first Rhodesian Ridgeback. I then became involved with Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue then started and have run the non-profit (501(c)3) rescue since 1990.

I began to write tales about how the ridgeback came to be, using folk lore that I grew up listening to while a child in my home country.I have tried to weave some of that African lore into each adventure of the main character, Boetie. I have had fun and dog folks seem to enjoy them as they ask for more. I currently live in California with several Ridgebacks.
