Doreen Diorio’s fantasy stories for children have recently been published in in FrostFire Worlds, Short Stories for Kids, and she was featured with an interview about her writing and art in Stinkwaves magazine for children. Her writing for children and teachers has also appeared in Story Shack, Mouse Prose, Rainbow Rumpus, Schooldays, K12Academics, Artsonia, Kinderarts, Pack-O-Fun’s Art Smarts feature, and in PARENTGUIDE News. Doreen holds certificates as a New York State K-12 art teacher and from the Institute of Children’s Literature, along with bachelors’ degrees in English and fine arts, and a master’s degree in art education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Doreen is also a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and Kappa Delta Pi, honor society in education, and co-founder of a local group for children’s authors.
