About Teresa
I started writing and illustrating children's books in June 2007. I had 2 books published in September 2008 . One book was a finalist with the Arizona Book Publishing Association titled, How Dung Beetles Earned Respect. Unfortunately it did not win the Glyph Award, but I was excited to be a finalist.
I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. I immigrated to the United States in 1990. While living in South Africa, I would often visit the Kruger National Park. This wildlife park is one of the largest game reserves in the world. I spent countless hours watching for animals and observing their unique behaviors. I didn't realize what an impact this had on my life until I started writing books. I often think about things that I have seen, smelled and heard while on our family safaris.
I write children's books because I enjoying reading books to children. I am a qualified teacher and have over 15 years of teaching experience. I have taught in Johannesburg, South Africa as well as Chicago, Illinois and Phoenix, Arizona.
I have written 5 other books which I have yet to have published. Hopefully this will be accomplished soon.
