On Friday, May 25th, I completed my 20th year as an educator. I'm amazed at how time has flown and how much I've learned.

Next year, I'll be teaching eighth grade language arts. I've finally "come home" after teaching sixth grade two years, seventh grade one year, and, now, I'm moving up with my students for the final year.

I've enjoyed getting to know my 37 pre-teen to young teenagers more than I've ever known a group of students. One huge benefit of moving up with them in my area is that I am so much ahead of the ballgame in regards to their reading preferences.

I'm excited about "Jacketflap" and hope to find new books and contacts to help my students.

My dream, someday, is to write a young adult novel. Hopefully, that will come soon.
