Shewrites is only a month old but already has an incredible following and some interesting groups to follow. I see you are in NC - I'm in VA near Roanoke. Looking forward to hearing your progress. Hi Patsy. Unfortunately those publishers' comments sound entirely normal and I've had plenty of those myself! I agree with Elizabeth Westra - target who you submit to carefully. Also, share your book with other children to check their response. I must admit that, even as a teacher myself, I found showing my work to others scary!
My first couple of stories weren't successful but I kept trying and eventually had success with one of the publishers who had been most positive with me.

Pick a few markets that sound like they publish books like yours and submit your book to them. Read the articles in this book that tell you how to submit a book.
