Aimed at the four-to-nine-years age group, Patrick's Birthday Message is the first of Gail Clarke's illustrated books for children on the theme of animal migration. The original printed version, which is also available on Amazon as a print-on-demand paperback, has been reformatted for this Kindle edition. It is perfectly readable on an original Kindle or the Kindle Paperwhite, but in order to gain the full benefit of the beautiful full-colour illustrations, it is best viewed on one of the Kindle Fire models, or on any tablet, smartphone or computer through the Kindle reader app free download.
Since 2010, Gail has introduced Patrick the Parrot and his Great-Grandpa Gilbert to over 15,000 children of various ages in Hong Kong, Phuket, Bangkok, Dubai, England and Kenya. Her presentations, assisted by Patrick and Gilbert glove puppets, inform the children about animal migration, story writing and illustration, and finish with the story itself. Following the success of Patrick's story, Gail has written two other illustrated children's books - Searching for Skye, an Arctic tern adventure; and Cosmos the Curious Whale - which are now also included in her presentations to schools.
A fourth illustrated children's book, The Chameleon Who Couldn't Change Colour, will be available very soon.
