MorePudgee isn't like other woodchucks. For one thing, he has a job! He works for the Dimples at their general store. Pudgee doesn't cause anyone any trouble, but today, trouble seems to find him! Pudgee has an important bag of groceries to deliver, and he only has a short time to do it. However, on the way through the forest, he discovers someone needing assistance and must make a very important decision! Does he stop and help, making everyone angry with him for being late, or does he ignore the person in distress and deliver the groceries on time? Pudgee Woodchuck teaches children that life is full of important decisions where the answers aren't always clear. What often seems like the right thing to some may be unpopular with others. It also teaches children such things as patience and that things aren't always as bad as they appear. GARY HONDEL has enjoyed writing and drawing for as long as he can remember. He always knew that art was his calling, but he knew for sure in sixth grade when he won first place in his school's fire prevention poster contest. He was awarded three silver dollars! Gary has worked in such areas as advertising, editorial cartooning, and radio announcing. When he's not writing or drawing, he enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter at their Florida home. Some of his favorite pastimes include watching British comedy, playing guitar, going to amusement parks, and traveling. Pudgee Woodchuck is inspired by Gary's childhood memories of growing up in Minnesota and from living in Alaska for twelve years as an adult. Both places are full of trees and furry little creatures! Alaska is also where he received a degree in psychology. This is Gary's first children's book.
