Running away, drinking, stealing, and sneaking around to wear jeans and makeup so she would "fit in" are just a few ways she deals with the stress of this troublesome time. You will empathize with this young woman as she journeys through issues of self-esteem, laugh with her as she replaces pity with humor, and resolve with her to be more accepting of your family, your life, your self. Even though she was only fourteen when her parents divorced, she knew God was in her corner. She never blamed him for her early experience with church. Michele Zirkle Starcher was able to transform the destruction of her family into a positive message for teens and parents alike. Michele Zirkle Starcher teaches Language Arts at Wahama High School in Mason, WV. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Concord College in Athens, WV and her Master's Degree in Special Education from Marshall Graduate College in South Charleston, WV.
