Elizabeth Daley is a computer genius and an animal lover. How can she stand to stay a whole summer at her grandparent's house? They don't have any pets, and they don't have a computer. They have a bakery, called the Daley Bread. It is the lifeblood of Riverview. Every morning people come to the Daley Bread to share hot bagels and a bit of news. But Elizabeth finds Riverview strange and lonely. With no friends, no pets and no computer, even her grandparents' warm muffins and big hugs can't cheer her up. Then one day, Elizabeth overhears someone making terrible threats. Elizabeth wants to find out what he is up to and tries to stop him. Using her phenomenal computer skills, she gathers the facts. But can she find out enough? Will anyone believe her? Can she stop the man in the tan cowboy hat from carrying out his revenge?
