CHILDREN STORY BOOK - Marty is a sixth grade class president with a clear dislike of girls and a case of easily hurt feelings. Amanda is a sixth grade girl who steers a clear path around class clowns like Marty. Can a gross boy and a fed-up girl become friends when the impossible happens? When the snow-drenched pages of Amanda's science book stick together during a class experiment, causing the type from one page to combine with the letters on the next. With a little help from a magic potion, the results turn Marty, a burping, flying, prank-playing sixth grader, into a freedom loving penguin. When he is forced to turn to his favorite target, Amanda, for help, his plight brings her to a startling realization. Marty has feelings after all. But Marty is a boy hiding behind what he should do to be popular, like throwing snowballs at girls and winning burping contests. Despite all his efforts, he still doesn't have any close friends. When he's turned into one of the few things on his planet that has no individuality, where every single one looks the same, he comes beak to beak with the revelation that being like everyone else can have limitations. When, he starts being the real Marty, he begins to make real friends, and becomes, literally, a human being.
