Through his imagination, Scotty explores the perspectives of the alligator under the bed, the ghost in the closet, the monster behind the door and a few of the other things that go bump in the night. His night time journey enables him to understand the differences between imaginary fears and reality. The myths and fears about nighttime that frighten him are playfully dealt with and discredited. In the end, Scotty conquers his fears and feels much better about bed time and being alone in the dark.
