Our story takes place at an orphanage in nineteenth-century London. A little girl there can't manage to stay clean, not just because the only place she has to play is on the avenues of London, but because of merciless teasing about her unkempt appearance by the bullies at the orphan school who are always pushing her down. Luckily, the child is rescued by the ambassador from Italy sent to compare the two countries' systems for orphan care. Sadly, the ambassador's recent loss of his wife and unborn daughter drew him to the plight of the dirty little orphan. However, some eerie signs would indicate that the pair's meeting was not at all by accident, and may have come from a very definite design. Could forces from beyond be playing a hand in this arrangement? Read how it's possible that everything and everyone has purpose and meaning, and how things aren't always quite what they seem.
