The rolling roar of military tanks - screaming people scurrying in the streets - the cries of panic-stricken children - all the Stepping Stones of War. Mom and Dad thrash through the door. The United States is under a nuclear threat and the government is drafting every adult into military service. Dad decides he will try to get me and Mike to Orange Mountain, to the safe haven of the bomb shelter built by our grandfather. Along the way we are stopped by several parents. They beg us to take their children along to Orange Mountain. We cram the youngsters into our SUV. Mom and Dad are drafted at a road block, not far from the entrance to the mountain. Just as we reach the shelter and close the doors, we feel the earth shake. We barely made it - or did we?
