Their meeting and battle was something that both knew would eventually happen, but the end is something that neither could imagine. Here in the land of dragonflies and red-winged blackbirds, both "Fish" and "Cat" are counseled by the wise sage of the woods, She-Crow. The bedrock principle of this tale is learning the right thing to do; and then doing the right thing. The cat learns this lesson well in his ultimate battle with the catfish.
