Proposal Submission Requirements Watson-Guptill - Amphoto - Back Stage - Billboard To have a book proposal considered by our editors, please submit the following in writing (e-mail submissions and phone calls will not be accepted): 1. A detailed, annotated table of contents. 2. A sample chapter (text, captions, and any step-by step-instruction, if applicable). 3. A brief bio (include professional credentials, books published or other writing credentials, teaching experience, awards, or anything else relevant to your submission). 4. Any other writing sample. 5. Sample artwork (no originals, please). In your cover letter, please include the details of your proposal, the market and/or need for the book, as you see it, any competition and why your book would be different, any comparable books, the level you are writing for (for example, beginner, advanced beginner, professional). Submission Guidelines for Children's Books: Picture Books: Complete manuscript Non-fiction: Table of contents and sample section All must send brief author bio and cover letter describing the marketing considerations for the book. Illustrators may send non-returnable art samples for file.
