I've only illustrated and had published one children's book. The writer, who was also an educational publishing company, paid me outright for my work. The book I am working on now is for a down payment plus a % of royalties once/if the book gets published... risky for me I know. There are many different approaches depending on the situation. I am very flexible with payment, we could work something out. Mainly I'm trying to continue children's book illustrating, so that it can be somewhat steady work. I also am illustrating my own book, but at this point not even thinking of trying to get it published. Let me know once you decided. I'll look into scanning the painting here in Portland and see what it will cost. If I can find something affordable here I can come down a lot in price for you.

not in a hurry, I'll send the painting down to Santa Cruz. Depending on the size, etc... I would estimate the
print would cost around $500 to include shipping, scanning, and a high quality giclee print on acid free paper.
I think I should be able to find someone local though, making the shipping cost(s) lower.
Would this work for you? If I already had a scan of the print, it would be cheaper.

Also I've just been awarded a contract to illustrate a children's book about a mischievious chocolate loving rat, which
needs to be completed in the next month. Nothing is written yet though. I'd still love to read your book, if your friend decides
not to illustrate it. Thank you!

I'm not sure if you're asking for one print of the watercolor 'Houses at Dusk', or if you want to use it for a book cover or something? I can definately arrange either, but would need to include the price of getting a professional scan made... Also I have two versions, and I think I sold one, the bluer one, so it would have to be the more purply one, but i might have them mixed up!! Also if you need an illustrator for your book(s) please keep me in mind. I'm working on one for the next three weeks, but then will be free.
