Actually, I learned magic through tending bar for 28 years. My first book (I have 9) was about bar and magic tricks, "Miss Charming's Book of Bar Amusements." Then on the 3rd book the agent called me up and asked, "Do ya think some of your magic tricks would work for a children's book?" and I replied that drinking adults and kids seemed the same to me!
