I blame my family for my career: for the crazy deadlines, the grey hairs and the income that resembles a rollercoaster. They loved making each other laugh and they loved telling stories. They perfected the art of telling stories so funny, you could barely breathe for laughing. I spent my entire shy childhood wishing I could do that, too. But being a shy child, I was never brave enough to tell stories or jokes to them out loud. But I found a way to tell them anyway: I used paper to both draw and write. I've been telling stories on paper since
I could pick up a pencil.

Most of my career I’ve worked solely as an illustrator. In 2007 I officially became an author/illustrator with the publication of Duck at the Door, which was followed by Duck
Soup in 2008. Duck at the Door was chosen as one of the top ten Booksense Spring Picks in 2007 and both Duck at the Door and Duck soup are New York Times Bestsellers.
