Okay, I confess. I'm a librarian by day-- that's my true occupation that supports the writer by night. I get to hang around books all day and write at night. What better job is there for a writer than that? Okay, writing full-time would actually be, in Nacho Libre's words, "the best!" but then where would I get all the great writing fodder for my stories if I holed up in my room in front of my computer for days and weeks at a time? (love that place, almost as much as my front porch swing). I love the library, though, and I'm so glad it claimed me as a profession.

I've always loved to write, but didn't pursue it seriously until the empty nest knocked a big hole in my life and schedule. Writing was a great way to get through that time. Red rover, red rover, let Donna start over-- that's how it felt. And for the most part, I've really enjoyed this time in my life.
