Unadorned said: This was a very interesting book. It painted a beautiful picture of early American Indian life as it underwent difficult and often tragic changes as other cultures intervened. I feel the story lost some of its intrigue and stamina about half way through. And I wasn't altogether pleased with the ending, it left me wanting more information; closure maybe. However, being that this story is based on a real-life woman of whom very little is known, it seems this book stayed true to her life story. When taken as a whole this book is an intriguing look at what it takes to survive. I recommend this book.
