In any case, let me first dispell any thoughts that I didn't like this book. I did. Really, it was a very good book, indeed, it was an excellent one, the very first in this kind of story line and one that I certainly would not hesitate in a nano-second to let my children (who are all well over the age of needing parental consent for anything), nor would I stop any of my grandchildren from reading it, in fact, I would encourage them to read it, as well as encourage other family members, friends, aquaintances, and the man-in-the-moon to read it as well. Still in all, I did find this first book a little slow to my liking in grabbing my attention. Personally, I didn't "get really into it" until Michael gets zapped and his Mother is ... by some mysterious man with dark glasses (I don't want to give away too much here). I was totally consumed and zaped myself from that point on. It was a great read. Haven't seen a book like this in eons ... no bad language, no sex ... lots of intrique and drama, excitement, action and just the right amount of a sweet an budding romance, loyal, unselfish devotion to family and friends, valor and honor (though I did feel that the story could have used just a tab bit more on the action side)! So you see, you can write, publish, promote and read good books ... there are some good authors out there and I strongly feel that Mr Jonathan Paul Evans is definitely one! Thank You Mr Evans ... for a great good book ... my son read it also and of course, being a guy, he loved it from the first page on ... he can't wait to have his former step-son read it ... they're very close ... he thinks the book will help him with some "early teenage issues" and he's also preparing to read the second book ... Marti P ps: I couldn't resist, I was compelled ... and so I recently purchased the second of the Michael Vey books, "Michael Vey: Rise of the Elgen" ... !
