The King chose to proudly wear the yellow star, because he could not hide who he was. If he did there would most certainly be death. The story talks about resistance, compliance, choices, tolerance, and acceptance. The tone is serious and solemn. The illustrations could be interpreted as fine artwork. The oil paintings almost seem like still life photographs. The thoughts are depicted in tans as the character imagines. The green is unmistakably representing the Nazi’s. The architecture represented is accurate for the time and setting. There are clean lines for buildings, windows, and streets.
