I have four children under 8 and they all (including my 8 year old) love me reading the book to them. I have also read it to my playgroup and it is amazing to watch two year olds sitting quietly listening to the magic of the words. I start with talking about the book. I say “Do you think this book is about a dog?” they say “NO!”, “Oh, about a cow?” “NO!” “What about a chicken?” “NO!”….. “What is it about?”…. “THE GREEN SHEEP” they cry. I always pause when I get to the But where is the Green Sheep? part and say it in a sing-song voice. After a few pages, the children say it for me…… MAGIC! |
