The worst, however, is the abusive, anti-woman/girl message that permeates the novel. Great for a critical thinking discussion with older students but that's about it. I'll admit, I found it hilarious due to the poor writing and scary "love story" it promotes but it's unintentional humour on the part of the author.
I would suggest that any teacher or parent who sees young girls reading this have a very serious talk with them about abusive relationships and being a strong, independent young woman.
