About Anita
Writing and illustrating has been passions of mine for many years. I have always enjoyed writing Short Stories, Poems, Finger-plays and even a joke or two, and I've been drawing since I was a small child. Sharing my creative talents (and I have many of them) with the world is something that I have just recently decided to do. I believe that being a wife and mother of two, a former Pre-School Teacher, and currently a Childcare Provider has given me the foundation and the makings of a great story teller. I could make up a great story to fill a space in time, between afternoon circle and going home. Some of my stories would be so great; that I would later wished that I had written it down. Once another teacher overheard one of my stories and asked me, 'What was the name of the story you told your class?' I would like to read that book to mine group". I just laughed and told her that I had made it all up. "No Way!" She replied, and gave me a look of disbelief. After many years of research, I now try to write a little bit everyday. As for my art, I like to take my time, but having time to sketch is harder these days. After taking a course with published author "Diane Adams" (Author of "Zoom" and "I Can Do It All By Myself") I am more inspired than ever to get my book published. I have now mastered the ART of the Query Letter. My goal is to submit to as many Publishing Houses and/or Literary Agents as possible, and become a Published Children’s Book Author and Illustrator. So keep your eyes open, I may surprise you with my children's book "My Dad Loves Neck Ties" it will be on the shelves of your local book store soon.
