About Will
I grew up learning to love books – not just the stories they held but the feel of them in my hands, the brand-new smell of them every month when they arrived in the mail from the book club. I started writing when I was five. My first work was an updating of “The Three Bears” in which the Bear family was rich and prosperous, playing tennis and enjoying the good life while their friend Chipmunk froze to death in his small shack. At sixteen, I suddenly saw writing as a possible career, not just a hobby, and I began honing my craft in earnest. While in college I studied under writer T.M. McNally, and I discovered my true voice and my true passion – young adult and middle grade fiction. In 2000, frustrated with trying to find a publisher and after disheartening experiences with two unscrupulous agents, I self published a YA novel, Muscle and Blood. Two years later, I followed that with the first of a ten-book series, “Brock Ford Adventures.” To date, three of the books have been completed. Right now I’m working on the fourth adventure, Ghosts along the Amazon. I currently work as a regulatory compliance and information technology manager at a community bank. I have been in banking for almost thirty years, but I’ve never given up on writing; in fact, I conceived the entire Brock Ford series and wrote the three books during breaks while reviewing loan files.I am a graduate of Indiana University, where I earned a bachelor’s in arts and humanities. I live in a small town in Western Kentucky with my wife. We have two grown children, a son and a daughter.
